A logo fit for a mayoress

Hosted by Mayor Len Brown and Mayoress Shan Inglis, The Mayoress’ Ball is an annual high-society event developed to raise money for the Mayoress’ Fund for Youth, an independent charitable fund administered within the Auckland Communities Foundation.

As well as creating all the branding and theming for the collateral associated with the event – a once off – the Mayoress’ Ball required a logo that would represent the event for years to come. It had to last the distance, and stand apart from the annual theme.

To symbolise our city, our country and the Mayoress herself, our designers created a striking logo that wove the imagery of a crown, the Auckland Harbour Bridge and the iconic Pohutukawa flower into one elegant and distinctive symbol. These three elements combined to represent what makes the ball unique, and what it stands for. 

As the Ball was such a resounding success, you can expect to see this logo next year, and probably many more to come.
